Erwan Agus Purwanto is a lecturer at the Department of Public Policy and Management (PPM) and the dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Gadjah Mada University. He got his BA in public administration (1992) and MA in policy science (1997) both from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. He received his PhD in social science from the Amsterdam School for Social Science Research (ASSR), Faculty of Social and Political Science, University of Amsterdam, in 2004. He has been conducting various researches on Indonesian administrative reform, local government transparency, and public service reform in Indonesia. Currently, He is coordinating a research program entitled: Popular Control and Effective Welfarism, five-year collaborative research between University of Oslo, University of Agder and Universitas Gadjah Mada. He teaches public policy analysis, research methodology, and Publicnes in undergraduate, master and doctorate program of public policy and management.
